Sergio Alarcon, Program Advisor: Sergio is a producer, promoter and media expert. He is currently director of the World Entertainment-Education Foundation, (WEEF) based in Mexico City. He has worked closely with Miguel Sabido for over three decades and has produced or anchored numerous EE programs on radio, TV and the Internet.
Kriss Barker, PMC Training Coordinator: Kriss is Vice President for International Programs at Population Media Center (PMC), a non-profit organization that works worldwide using the Sabido methodology to address population issues. She has over 20 years of experience in behavior change communication, research, monitoring, evaluation and training. Kriss holds a MA in Public Health from Tulane U. and has lived and worked in over 20 countries worldwide.
Virginia Carter: Training Consultant: Former Senior VP and Head of Drama for the largest independent television production company in Hollywood (Embassy Television, a Norman Lear Production). She serves as an advisor to ClearVision and a training consultant to PMC in developing social-content serial dramas. She assisted in the production of the top five most highly rated television shows in the US in the 1980s including All in the Family, Maude, Good Times, and The Jeffersons and was awarded an Emmy and two Peabody Awards.
Ed Maibach MPH, PhD, Research Coordinator: Ed is an expert in public health communication, social marketing, and an experienced social change professional. He was Director of Research and then Worldwide Director of Social Marketing for Porter Novelli, and more recently he served as Associate Director of the National Cancer Institute. Ed is in the process of establishing a “center of excellence” for climate change messaging research.
Brett Pierce, Training Facilitator: Brett is a program developer and producer who spent 15 years at Sesame Workshop. He’s worked on numerous curriculum-driven TV series in the U.S. and overseas including Poland, China, France and Israel; and conflict-resolution dramas in Macedonia and Cyprus. Brett is the Executive Director of Sesame Workshop’s new initiative, Worldwide Kids. He has an MA in Education from Columbia.
William Ryerson: ClearVision Partner/Technical Advisor: Bill is the founder and President of PMC, which works to stabilize population at sustainable levels and lessen humanity’s harmful environmental impact. He has 20 years experience as the leading adaptor of the Sabido methodology for behavior change communications to various cultural settings worldwide, and designing research to measure the effects of such projects in numerous countries.
Miguel Sabido, Chief EE Advisor/Methodologist: Miguel is considered the “Father of EE.” He pioneered the social use of commercial television soap operas. For over 17 years, he served as VP of Research for the Mexican network, Televisa, where he created his now famous serial dramas or telenovelas. More recently he has taken his EE concept to the Internet. Winner of numerous awards, his pioneering work has been replicated around the world.
Jaci Smith, EE Scriptwriting Advisor: Jaci has worked extensively for 15 years in the South African entertainment industry as an actor, writer, director and producer. She was a headwriter for Soul Buddyz – a Soul City spin-off TV series aimed at 8-12 year olds. She’s worked on issues such as HIV/AIDS, affirmative action and gender. Jaci is working on a theatre project with maximum sentence prisoners in South African jails.
Sally Ward, Technical Advisor: Sally worked for Soul City for nearly a decade and is intimately familiar with their EE methodology. She was integrally involved in planning and developing most seasons of their TV series. She reviewed scripts, worked on content, and helped develop all print materials. She also managed the process of adapting the TV series into multimedia materials that met the needs of adult learners and educators.

K. Joseph Hartman, President: ClearVision’s founder, Joseph’s interest in using media to benefit society, and the role of character, moral and spiritual development in creating positive social change spans 30 years. A catalyst who helps organizations fulfill their potential, Joseph excels at generating momentum. He felt called to mainstream EE in Hollywood in 1997, worked on Touched by an Angel and helped establish EE programs at UCLA and USC.
Gregor Barnum, Board of Directors, Chairman: Gregor Barnum is Director of Corporate Consciousness at Seventh Generation. He helped start an environmental management-consulting firm and was the Director of Operations/Business Development for o.s.Earth, Inc., an educational company that builds simulation events for education and corporate markets. He spent 4 years working on Mister Rogers Neighborhood and holds an MA from the Yale Divinity School.
J. Edward Delhagen, Board of Directors, Treasurer: Ed has an extensive background leading environmental action campaigns and fostering sustainable development. In 1997, the Kellogg Foundation selected him as a Fellow in sustainability. Ed has worked in the US and abroad with communities, government agencies, businesses and non-profits. He holds a BS from Brown University and an MS from U of Michigan in natural resource management.
Marcia Jaquith, Assistant to President: Marcia has over 20 years of experience in education as an environmental educator, public school teacher and private school administrator. She helped launch the Vermont Mathematics Initiative and mentored teachers statewide. She co-founded a Waldorf School in Central Vermont, and has a BA in Human Ecology from College of the Atlantic and an MA in Teaching from Vermont College.

Bob Barton, Chief Financial Advisor: Bob is CEO of Catalyst Financial Group, Inc., which has arranged over $3.5 billion in financing. He has 34 years experience in finance specializing in renewable energy/efficiency projects and obtaining funding from both traditional and non-traditional funders. Bob led the charge to secure financing for Santa Monica, CA to become the first major U.S. city to be completely energy independent using renewables by 2020.
John Brennan, Chief Operating Officer: John is an entrepreneur who specializes in finance, sales, marketing, operations and securing funding for emerging companies. He was the CEO of Source One Capital and a regional president of Nextel Communications, where he raised $300 million and led the charge to launch the largest cellular network in the US. John is a CPA who holds a BS in Business, an MS in Marketing and Accounting.
Bill Finnegan, Environmental Communication Specialist: Bill is co-founder of Tamarack Media, Inc., a non-profit that raises environmental awareness by producing videos, websites and other media. His videos have been featured in the International Wildlife Film Festival, Environmental Film Festival and the public TV series, Natural Heroes. He has a BA from Dartmouth and a Masters in Environmental Science from Yale.
Ron Koss, Business Planning & Strategy: Ron was co-founder and Executive VP of Earth’s Best Baby Foods, the first organic baby food company in the US, now owned by Hain and H.J. Heinz. He has been an entrepreneurial and organizational development consultant for many years working with both socially responsible start ups and established businesses. Currently, Ron is Executive VP of Nutricopia, Inc., a food research and product development company.
Rob Michalak, Media Advisor: Rob is the new Director of PR and Social Mission at Ben and Jerry’s Corp, where he’d been PR Czar from 1989-1998. In his 20-year media career, he has produced more than 2,500 broadcasts. He co-founded 2Much Media, Inc in 1999, a production company specializing in “media that matters.” He also served as News Director for WPTZ-TV in Burlington, VT and most recently as Program Manager at Vermont Public Television.
Jill Muhr, Human Resources Advisor: Jill has 15 years of experience in human resources administration and internal management consulting within the non-profit and private sectors including the New-York Historical Society and Coopers & Lybrand. She is currently the Human Resources Manager of the Vermont League of Cities and Towns. Jill has a degree in Business Administration from the University of Delaware.
Joshua Smilovitz, Fundraising Advisor: Josh has worked in the development departments at Vermont Public Television and Cultural Survival. He obtained his BA from New School University in NYC and is studying for a MA in International Relations and Diplomacy at Leiden University in the Netherlands.
Bill Stetson, Media Advisor: Bill is a film producer and environmental consultant. He has advised Vermont Governors Howard Dean and Jim Douglas on environmental issues. As C.E.O. of Fairhill Oil in Canada, Bill transformed his family's company into an example of environmental excellence in the energy industry. He is a trustee of the Smith Richardson Foundation and was founding president of the Vermont Film Commission.
